This trip was before covid was there and i was tired of my daily work schedule. So i thought of taking a solo trip to Dharamshala and Mcleodganj. It was a highly unplanned trip and i had not even researched on the places to visit there.
About Dharamshala
Dharamshala is a city located in Himachal Pradesh.
How to reach there?
I took a train from new delhi since i wanted a different kind of experience altogether. It dropped me at Pathankot railway station. From there i took a taxi to dharamshala.
Places to stay
There are plenty of home stays in dharamshala. If you want to have a monastry experience then i would recommend Norbulingka Institue. It a very popular tourist attraction also. There are other good home stays around this monastry with very beautiful views.
Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.

Places i visited
Although there are many places to go and you would need atleast 3 days to view them all. Dharamshala has something for everyone. If you are religious person then no better place than it. If you are a backpacker then you have come to the right place. You can also do trekking here and stay in mountains in a tent.
- Bir – Known for amazing views and paragliding.
- War Memorial
- Norbulingka Institue
- Dalai Lama Temple In Mcleod Ganj
- WaterFall – Its a good amount of trek in Mcleodganj but its definitely worth it
- Gyuto Monastry – The location in google maps is wrong so dont follow that. In that location there is one more monastry but its a different one.
